Powerchair Football is an exciting team sport combines the skill of the wheelchair user with the speed and power of the chair itself, to participate in an extremely challenging game very similar to soccer. The ball is larger than a regular ball and specially designed guard are fitted to the wheelchair to control the ball on the court. Galway Speeders have worked on developing the sport with Knocknacarra FC who now have a powerchair football team which is open to all powerchair users.
