Boccia is a sport similar to bowls which is suitable for people of all abilities and particularly tailored for those who may not have the ability to participate in more physical sports including powerchair users. The aim of the game is to throw leather balls coloured red or blue as close as they can to a white target ball, or jack. The balls can be moved with hands, feet or with an assistive device such as a ramp and games can be played individually, in pairs or teams and it is a sport of skill and tactics. Most of our Boccia players also play powerchair soccer.
